Saturday 23 August
In this ABODA professional development session, Russell Hammond will present a comprehensive and practical session on how to best choose repertoire for your entire Band Program. The past century contains a rich treasure-trove of Band music both great and not so great for bands at all levels that can reward those who take the trouble to find out about it.
Russell Hammond was the founder of ABODA and the Australian Wind Orchestra and he is an honorary life member of the American Bandmasters Association where he sits alongside Percy Grainger as the only other Australian with this honour. Russell was inducted as a Fellow of the “Academy of Wind and Percussive Arts” the highest honour from the American National Band Association. Russell has taught instrumental music for over 40 years in every state of Australia and internationally.
